IP Address Privacy Checker

Every website you visit sees your public IP address. This tool reveals your current IP, identifies whether it is IPv4 or IPv6, and explains exactly what that address can expose about your location, ISP, and identity — plus what you can do to protect it.

All processing happens locally in your browser. No data is uploaded.
Disclosure: Your IP address is fetched from the public API at api.ipify.org solely to display it to you. It is not stored, logged, or transmitted to this website's servers. All subsequent analysis is performed entirely client-side in your browser.

What Websites Can Learn From Your IP
How to Protect Your IP Address
🌐 VPN (Virtual Private Network)

Routes traffic through a VPN server — websites see the VPN's IP, not yours. Choose a no-logs provider.

🧅 Tor Browser

Relays traffic through 3+ nodes. Websites see only the Tor exit node IP. Slowest but strongest IP masking.

🔁 Proxy Server

Forwards requests through an intermediary IP. Less private than VPN — proxy may log activity.

📡 Mobile Data

Using mobile data assigns a carrier NAT IP shared by many users — harder to pin to you specifically.

🏠 Avoid Home Wi-Fi

Your home IP may be static and registered to your address. Public Wi-Fi is harder to attribute.

🔒 HTTPS Everywhere

HTTPS encrypts the request body but not your IP. Always use HTTPS regardless of VPN status.
