How It Works
  1. Upload a photo containing faces or any content you want to blur.
  2. Draw Mode: Click and drag to place blur zones precisely over faces or other areas.
  3. Auto-Detect: Scans pixel data for skin-tone regions and marks candidate areas — review and remove false positives with Undo.
  4. Adjust the Blur slider to control intensity (higher = more pixelated).
  5. Download your blurred image as PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the face blur tool upload my photos?

No. All image processing happens entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photos never leave your device and are never sent to any server.

Can I blur areas other than faces?

Yes. Use Draw Zone mode to manually draw a blur rectangle over any region — faces, license plates, text, or any area you want to obscure.

What blur strength should I use?

A strength of 12–18 is usually sufficient for faces. Use 30+ for sensitive documents or text. Higher values are harder to reverse.

Does Auto-Detect work on all photos?

Auto-Detect uses a skin-tone heuristic and works best on well-lit, front-facing photos. For group shots or unusual lighting, use Draw Zone mode.
